CBS is extending the already long run of its daytime drama The Bold and the Beautiful for several more seasons.
The network has ordered three more seasons of the soap, which will take The Bold and the Beautiful through its 41st season in 2027-28. That lines up with CBS’ other long-running daytime soap, The Young and the Restless, which is on the first year of a four-year order that also runs through the ‘27-28 season.
CBS has yet to make a decision on its first-year soap Beyond the Gates. That series, the first daytime drama to center Black characters in more than 35 years, premiered in February to solid ratings.
The Bold and the Beautiful averages about 3.2 million viewers, including a week of streaming and other delayed viewing. CBS says the show’s streaming audience on Paramount+ has grown by 8 percent this season compared to 2023-24 (though as is usually the case with streaming numbers, a breakdown of the linear vs. streaming audience isn’t being made public).
The renewal for The Bold and the Beautiful comes two weeks after the show marked the 38th anniversary of its March 23, 1987 premiere. Original cast members John McCook and Katherine Kelly Lang are still with the show; the ensemble also includes Matthew Atkinson, Kimberlin Brown, Rebecca Budig, Scott Clifton, Delon de Metz, Don Diamont, Sean Kanan, Thorsten Kaye, Annika Noelle, Tanner Novlan, Lawrence Saint-Victor, Heather Tom and Jacqueline MacInnes Wood, among others.
Bell-Phillip Television produces the series. Bradley Bell is the executive producer and head writer.
