Entertainment Squad Takes Robin de Levita Fantasy Film ‘Lost Cos’

Independent distribution company Entertainment Squad has acquired the fantasy feature film Lost Cos, written and directed by three-time Tony Award winner Robin de Levita (Titanic, 42nd Street, Into the Woods), for North America. The creative also won a Laurence Olivier Award for The Who’s Tommy.

Lost Cos stars Evgeniya Radilova (Limitless), Sammy Rubin (How to Catch a Feeling and When to Let it Go), Jared Rinaldi (Crazy Kinda Love), Rocco Nevers (Nightwing: Escalation), Rob Franzese, Dena Tyler (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit), Mark McCullough (Platonic), Ross Degraw (Paterno), Murray Hill (Somebody Somewhere), and newcomer Zoë Vnak.

The movie, filmed in New York, follows Eni (Radilova) who is haunted by a tortured childhood and the loss of the love of her life. “She finds an escape in Lost Cos, a mysterious underground club where cosplay and burlesque intertwine, and heroes and villains blur the line between fantasy and reality,” according to a synopsis. “But when a cosplayer dressed as ‘Merman’ shows up dead on a New Jersey beach and a mysterious stalker gets up in her text messages, Eni must confront the traumas that have shaped her life and transform herself into an altogether more formidable force.”

Dutch producer, writer and director de Levita has produced more than 70 theater shows, including on Broadway and in London’s West End.

Lost Cos is more than just a fantasy film – it explores identity, transformation and the blurred lines between reality and escape,” said Entertainment Squad CEO Shaked Berenson. “With the rise of cosplay and fandom culture, it feels especially relevant now.”

The movie has screened and won awards at such film festivals as the Barcelona Planet Film Festival, Burbank International Film Festival, Calcutta International Cult Film Festival, the London Independent Film Awards, the Los Angeles Cinematography Awards, the New York Cinematography Awards, and the Chelsea Film Festival.

Princ Films is handling international sales of the movie. The filmmaker is represented by Sebastian Twardosz of Savant Artists who negotiated the deals with Entertainment Squad and Princ Films.
