Max Partners with French outlets to bundle News And Streaming

In a global first, Warner Bros. Discovery‘s streaming platform Max is partnering with Le Monde and Télérama, to launch joint services in France bundling Max shows with news content from the French media groups.

Le Monde is France’s leading national newspaper, with some 650,000 subscribers and millions of readers, online and off. Télérama, which specializes in culture and entertainment recommendations, serves a 6 million-strong online community.

The partnership, announced Thursday, will see Max’s offering, including hit HBO series House of the Dragons, The White Lotus and The Last of Us, packed together with Le Monde‘s journalism and Télérama‘s coverage of the cultural scene, in France and internationally.

Starting on April 3, French audiences will be able to subscribe to two bespoke packages: One bundling Max’s basic offering (with ads) with Le Monde‘s articles, videos, podcasts and newsletters, for €14.99 ($16.17) a month; the second combining Max Basic with ads with a subscription to Télérama, for €6.99 ($7.54).

“Through this unprecedented partnership with Max, we aim to reach an even wider audience and to increase the loyalty of our subscribers, by offering our readers enriched experiences adapted to today’s uses,” said Lou Grasser, director of digital operations at Le Monde. “This agreement is fully in line with Le Monde‘s strategy: to offer our readers exclusive, quality content, based on a renowned streaming offer.”

Added Fleur Lavedan, chairman of the board of directors at Télérama: “Faced with the explosion of content and the evolution of uses, Télérama’s role is more essential than ever: to help its readers make informed choices.”

The deal highlights Max’s approach in France, where the service, which launched last year, is available directly, as well as non-exclusively on pay-TV platform Canal+ and Amazon Prime. Max parent company Warner Bros. Discovery, is expected to take a similar approach as it rolls out in Europe’s other big territories, including the U.K., Germany and Italy, with launches set for 2026.

Discovery’s ambition and willingness to create strategic partnerships that aggregate the best content in order to offer an incomparable experience to users, thanks to the widest possible distribution,” explained Guillaume Coffin, senior vp sales France, Benelux and Africa at Warner Bros Discovery.
