Where to Stream ‘Moana 2’ Online and How to Get Disney+ for Free

After earning over $1 billion at the box office, Moana 2 is now available to watch online at home.

The hit animated sequel to the 2016 musical blockbuster arrives on Disney+ on March 12. Until then, Moana 2 can be purchased on digital for home streaming at Apple TV, Prime Video and other premium video-on-demand platforms, or on disc with a digital code.

Moana 2 follows Moana (voiced by returning star Auli’i Cravalho) three years after she first set sail with the demi-god Maui (Dwayne Johnson) to restore the heart of Tefiti and save her home island of Motonui. Now a big sister to Simea (Khaleesi Lambert-Tsuda), Moana once again must venture beyond the seas of Oceana to answer a call from her ancestors. The sequel features music composed by Grammy-winning duo Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear, Grammy-nominated musician Opetaia Foa’i and Grammy winner Mark Mancina.

First released in theaters on Nov. 27, Moana 2 will debut on Disney+ on Wednesday, March 12. The original Moana movie released in 2016 is currently streaming on Disney+.

For those who prefer to own the movie, Moana 2 is available to buy for $29.99 or rent for $24.99 on digital on Apple TV, Prime Video and other streaming video-on-demand platforms.

A subscription is required to stream both Moana movies on Disney+, which costs $9.99 per month for the ad-supported Basic plan and $15.99 for the ad-free Premium tier. Bundled packages with Hulu and ESPN+ are also available starting at $10.99 monthly.

Disney+ subscriptions include access to animated and live-action movies, TV series, short films and documentaries from Disney Animation Studios, Pixar, Lucasfilm (Star Wars), Marvel, National Geographic and more.

Unfortunately, Disney+ no longer offers a free trial. However, Verizon customers can get Disney+ for free with select Unlimited plans. Plans start at just $50 a month and include unlimited talk and text, plus free streaming on Disney+, Hulu and ESPN+.

Another way to save is by subscribing to the Disney+ Premium annual plan, which costs $159.99 per year. (The Disney+ Basic tier is only available with monthly billing.) You’re essentially getting 12 months for the price of 10.
